ABRASIVE BLASTING
Abrasive blasting is frequently the first step in any industrial coatings project. The processes creates the proper profile on the surface layer of steel by removing dirt, coatings, paint, or other contaminants.
All projects are completed in a self-cleaning, self-recycling blasting booth that removes all broken down material to ensure your project receives the proper specification profile requirements based on industry standards.
We offer the following methods of abrasive blasting:
- GRIT – One of the most effective ways to strip and smooth a surface of any foreign material.
- SODA – We embrace the environmentally friendly benefits of soda. While not for everything, soda is biodegradable, non-toxic and will not warp or pit metal surfaces. Our experts apply specially granulated sodium bicarbonate at high pressure to smooth surfaces.
CHEMICAL PRETREATMENT
Chemical pretreatment is another method to remove dirt, oil and grease, as well as oxidation on the surface of a project to help create a superior and more durable bond with coatings. We can apply pretreatment products by wiping, spraying or dipping. The nature of chemicals used depends upon the base metal and parameters of a specific project.
